Water-based coatings are coatings with water as the diluent. The production process of water-based wood lacquer is a simple physical mixing process. Water-based wood lacquer is the safest and most environmentally-friendly paint for wood products with water as the solvent without any harmful volatilization.

How to apply waterborne wood paint?
In view of the problems that are relatively easy to occur in the construction of water-based paint, some solutions are proposed to make you more handy in the process of coating wood products.
01
Peeling and delamination of water-based paint
Causes: The surface is too smooth, the coated object is not clean, the wood is decayed, and the quality of the water-based paint is poor.
There is a small area of peeling paint film on the surface of the woodware. The varnish can be sanded with fine sandpaper and then brushed up. The color paint can be locally polished or putty putty, and then repainted. Large areas of spalling must be completely washed (scraped) and repainted.
02
Water-based paint foaming
Cause 1: The moisture is too heavy under or behind the paint layer. During the drying process (or the sun), the water will evaporate outwards and the paint film will be lifted up to form a bubble. In this case, first use a hot-air spray gun to remove the blistering paint film, then allow the underlying wood to dry naturally, then apply a partial brush to the primer, and finally repaint the entire board.
Cause 2: If the wood grain cracks and there is a small amount of air in the wood, the patent leather will blister as soon as the sun swells and the air expands.
Facing this situation, first scrape off the blistering patent leather, then fill the cracks with putty and repaint. You can also use microporous lacquer directly after scraping off the patent leather without using putty.
03
Cracks appear (color paint, mixed water color)
In this case, the paint is removed with a chemical paint remover or a hot air spray gun, and then repainted.
If the breaking range is not large, you can use a sanding block or wet and dry sandpaper to soak the water to remove the broken water-based paint. After the surface is smooth and smooth, put on putty, brush on the primer, and then repaint.
04
Water-based paint flowing
Water-based paint is too thick at one time, it will cause flow. While the paint is still dry, use a brush to open the paint. If the paint film dries, wait for it to dry thoroughly, use a fine sandpaper to smooth the paint surface, clean the surface, and then repaint. Be careful not to brush too thick.
05
Moldy discoloration
This kind of problem mostly occurs on the surface of wet water-based paint. For example, the water vapor condensed on the wood surface and the paint film will produce brown-black stains. At this time, you can use a bactericide to treat the moldy part according to the instructions of the instructions. After the mold is killed, clean the surface and then repaint.
06
Tarnish
One of the reasons is that the topcoat may be painted with a semi-gloss or two-gloss topcoat without being primed, or the inner coating is not dried, and the topcoat is absorbed by the wood and loses gloss. It may also be of poor quality.
Treatment method: Use dry and wet sandpaper to remove the old paint, clean the surface of the dust, and dry it before repainting.
Special tips: When painting in a very low temperature environment, the paint film may lose its luster when it is dry, which is the poor film formation.
07
Wrinkle
It is usually caused by the second pass of the paint before it is dry-that is, the wet brush is also called wet-on-wet application. At this time, the upper and lower layers interact and interact with each other, making them wrinkle.
In this case, the chemical paint remover or heating method can be used to remove the wrinkled paint film and repaint. Be sure to remember: you must wait until the underlying paint film is dry before applying it again.
08
Lacquered
The newly painted surface is rough, usually due to the dirty paint brush used or the dirty construction environment. It is also possible that the paint or other impurities are mixed in the water-based paint, which has not been precipitated or filtered before use, or that the water-based paint film is stained with dust when it is not dry.
To prevent the above problems, a clean paint brush and paint bucket must be used. Before using the old paint, it must be filtered. In addition, the painted surface should be covered with a cover or cardboard when the paint film is not dry to prevent dust.
(1) If the paint surface is rough, after it is completely dry, use wet and dry sandpaper to smooth it, wipe it clean, and then re-paint it. Special note: Use clean paint brushes whenever possible.
(2) Dark spots appear on the surface of painted wood
It may be caused by the wood not being sealed before being painted. After the sun is exposed, the knots are heated and the oil of the wood itself leaks out of the knots. At this time, the water-based paint can be scraped off with a spatula, and then sanded with fine sandpaper to expose the knots, and then the knots are sealed with a sealing paint.
09
Water-based paint does not dry
Poor indoor ventilation, too low temperature, and too high indoor humidity, cause the water-based paint film to dry. Water-based varnishes dry slowly. We can properly open the doors and windows for ventilation, or put a heater in the room to increase the room temperature.
